1 Gallon Flamecheck™ M-111PA Fire Retardant Paint Additive For a Class A Finish.

Flamecheck™ M-111PA “Class A” Fire Retardant Paint Additive is compatible with most latex and acrylic water-based paints to inhibit the spread of flames on many surfaces. Perfect for residential, multifamily, commercial and industrial sites where added fire protection is desired.</.P

Flamecheck M-111PA will prolong the burn time of walls, ceilings and other materials allowing additional time to evacuate during a fire.  Easy to use, non-toxic and non-allergenic, it is safe to use around kids and pets.

Flamecheck™ M-111PA is ideal for the following applications:
  • Movie Studios: Props, Backdrops and Sets
  • Household: Kitchens, Garages, Exteriors, Interiors, Bedrooms, Family Rooms
  • Commercial: Restaurants, Daycares, Military, Office Spaces, Schools

Flamecheck M-111PA does not change the sheen or color when added to paint.*

Flamecheck M-111PA (paint additive) passes ASTM E-84 with Zero Flame Spread and Zero Smoke over a non-flammable substrate with a “Class A” finish. 

Note: Flamecheck M-111PA does NOT alter the flammability class of the substrate being painted. It does add a fire-retardant treatment that inhibits and slows the spread of fire along the surface.

Flamecheck™ M-111PA Features:
  • Gives a “Class A” fire rating on the paint coating.
  • Can be used on wood, drywall, brick or any paintable surface.
  • Does not change the color or sheen of the paint.
  • Unlimited shelf life in a sealed container.
  • Easy to Use: Mix 8 oz. (undiluted) per gallon of paint.

 

Flamecheck™ M-111PA Application Instructions:
    • Mix: Mix 8 ounces of Flamecheck™ M-111PA with 1 gallon latex paint. It may be necessary to use a larger container to mix the full 8 ounces into the paint. Do not dilute.  Mix thoroughly. Apply treated paint by brush, roller or sprayer as per the paint manufacturer's instructions.

    • Small Applications: High-quality paintbrush or professional roller is acceptable.

    • Larger Applications: An airless spray gun is recommended. 500 sq. ft., or more. An airless paint sprayer that operates out of a 5-gallon container is recommended.

    • Surface Preparations: Be sure the material you are treating is clean and free of dust, grease, and unsightly spots. Must be a paintable surface.

    • Dry Time: May take up to 24-48 hours depending on the humidity, temperature or thickness of the coating.

    • Disposal: Follow local guidelines for water-based (latex) paint disposal.

    • Certification: May require application by a certified applicator; CA, NY, MA.

    • Coverage:  One 40 oz. bottle of Flamecheck M-111PA mixed with 5 gallon latex paint covers 1,750-2,000 sq.ft. Two coats or 2 mils thick are required to achieve “Class A” finish. It may be necessary to use a larger container to mix the full 40 ounce bottle into the 5 gallons of paint.  Do not dilute.  Mix thoroughly.

  • 1 Gallon of Flamecheck M-111PA provides enough additive for approximately 16 gallons of latex paint.  

Extra Fire Protection: Treat flammable substrates (if porous) with original Flamecheck M-111 and allow to dry before applying paint containing fire retardant additive.

* Flamecheck M-111PA is compatible with most latex and acrylic water-based paints. The manufacturer suggests performing a sample test of the paint mixed with additive prior to application. If the sample thickens or curdles, do not use. Some metallic paints treated with Flamecheck M-111PA may change color weeks after application.  Always test a small area with the treated paint prior to usage.
